Preparing Your Proposal

Deadline Friday, May 16
Applicants will be notified about their status in mid-June

Session Formats (all sessions are 75 minutes long)

  • Informative presentation (lecture or panel) Presenters will share relevant research, projects, or foundational information through stimulating lectures or small panels (we suggest a maximum of three speakers per session). These sessions should allow ample time for audience discussion and Q&A. All panels should have an experienced moderator. If you are unable to secure a moderator, our team will help to match you with one.
  • Engaging workshop These are interactive sessions involving significant audience participation, such as practicing skills or working in small groups. You will have an opportunity to communicate with attendees before the event if pre-conference homework is needed to ensure maximum participation during the workshop.
  • Something else? Perhaps you have expertise in alternative formats, such as short-format presentations (e.g., Pecha Kucha), storytelling, improvisation, open discussion, fireside chat, open space technology, or something else. We’d love to hear your ideas!

Areas of Focus

The RCP Network Gathering embraces the interconnected nature of conservation by bringing diverse sectors together and creating opportunities for conservationists to connect with those working in other fields, such as housing or land justice.

We are seeking informative and engaging sessions that highlight:

Strengthening partnerships New tools, lessons, or innovative practices that support leading and participating in diverse partnerships.

A conservation topic that relates to the event theme:

  • Increasing the pace of land protection;
  • Increasing the coordination and planning for multiple land uses;
  • Incorporating Tribal Nations and Traditional Ecological Knowledge in land protection, restoration, and stewardship;
  • Centering land justice in conservation and land use planning;
  • Increasing community and ecosystem resilience to climate change;
  • Innovating strategic, equitable, and resilient building designs and green infrastructure.

Other ways to Get Involved

Table at the Gathering We connect conservation professionals, RCP leaders and their partners, and others engaged in landscape conservation with regional initiatives to support their work. Preference will be given to partners whose mission, programs, or areas of focus center on this year’s theme, “A Home for Us All.” Apply to table here.
