Timothy Brown

Timothy Brown joined Highstead as Communications Specialist in July 2024. An award-winning environmental journalist, he also serves as editor of Connecticut Woodlands Magazine, a quarterly publication of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association. Previously, he held positions with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, National Geographic Society, and at Yale. He also taught environmental science and music for eight years at a performing arts high school in Western Massachusetts. He holds a Master of Environmental Science from the Yale School of the Environment where he studied environmental anthropology, served as editor of Sage Magazine, and received the 2015 Strachan Donnelley Award. Timothy lives in New Haven where he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, music, and recreating outside.
